Editorial Policy

We write for readers who need to specify equipment and discuss a project with suppliers. A useful article should identify the input required, the decision it affects, and what still needs verification.

Sources and claims

Articles list sources with the claim or section they support, the source version or date when available, and the date consulted. Manufacturer specifications describe the manufacturer’s published claims. They are not independent test results. A nominal rating does not establish performance for a different product or integrated line.

Calculations state their assumptions. Planning examples are not quotations, guaranteed cycle rates or safety designs. Where information is missing, we identify the gap instead of supplying a plausible number.

Authorship and preparation

Articles are attributed to VMA Automation Guide Editorial, an organizational byline. AI assistance may be used to prepare text and diagrams. We do not present an invented engineer, reviewer, site visit or equipment test. A source list lets readers inspect the basis of a claim; it does not imply endorsement by the cited organization.

Revisions and corrections

An article’s publication date is the date this version of the guide was first published here. A substantive update includes an updated date and a revision note describing the change. Historical event years are labeled separately. Use the contact page to find the available correction channel and include the page address, disputed statement and supporting source.

Our VMAC pages are newly written references. We link to surviving original sources where possible, describe the scope of example files, and do not imply that an incomplete archive is a recovered official dataset.
